Season 6 could be a major turning point for Love Is Blind

Season 5 of Love Is Blind has officially come to a close, and the behind the scenes drama took centre stage this time around. On screen we saw less couples, less love, and less amazing friendships, all of the beautiful things that usually provide a nice balance to the tears, fights and triangles. While the season was airing, it came to light that a season 5 cast member had filed a lawsuit back in August of 2022. The lawsuit was filed against the production company behind Love Is Blind, Kinetic Content, as well as a fellow cast member. The lawsuit details a myriad of allegations including false imprisonment. This lawsuit joins the one filed in June of 2022 by season 2 cast member Jeremy Hartwell. Hartwell’s lawsuit describes “sleep deprivation, isolation, lack of food and excess alcohol”, which all contributed to inhumane working conditions.

Important to note is that season 5 of Love Is Blind completed filming in May of 2022. Therefore, season 6 was the first season of Love is Blind to be filmed AFTER any lawsuits were filed. Viewers of the show have commented on how much food was given to the cast during seasons 4 and 5, assuming that this was in direct relation to the lawsuits. However, both seasons were filmed already. It was most likely on the minds of editors of course, and they were sure to include the footage, but the food was already there. Will the cast of season 6, and all proceeding seasons, report better on-set conditions? Time will tell. Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen did recently state that the $50,000 penalty for leaving had been removed from the contracts, so it does appear that some changes have been made already. Hopefully season 6 will have more love stories, better conditions for the cast, and less lawsuits. Allegedly, two season 6 Love Is Blind cast members will be appearing on the next season of Perfect Match, so hopefully this means that conditions have improved and the cast was happy with their experience filming Love is Blind.

So far, we do not have a release date for the sixth season of Love Is Blind, but if it follows the pattern of the previous seasons, it should be released in February 2024, but possibly as late as April. On April 4th of this year, a camera operator posted a Tik Tok video of her capturing the pods for season 6, which has since been deleted. However we did capture a duet before it was deleted which can be viewed here: Season 6 LIB pod filming . The city has also yet to be confirmed, but sources place it in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, we do know that production is always editing and changing things until the last minute, so we will have to wait and see.
